We marched forth to healing on March 4th at the Barnes & Noble in Spokane Valley. Supported by core members of the Spokane Area Psychedelic Society (SAPS), Jenny and Ran were truly honored to share stories of healing and promote Ran’s book, Triumph Over Trauma.
This book is about celebrating the 23 storytellers — a mosaic of people of all colors, ages, and genders who bravely share their experiences with psychedelic medicines — as well as supporting all the people around the world who are still searching for healing, still struggling with trauma reactions ranging from depression and anxiety to addiction and control issues.
Our mission is about spreading the word about the healing, spiritual growth, and transformation from the intentional use of psychedelic medicines. These drugs actually get to healing, unlike most pharmaceuticals, which simply mask symptoms.
We are truly in a healing crisis, with more people addicted to harmful substances, more people suffering from depression and anxiety, more people taking a variety of prescription pills, more people thinking about suicide, and more people committing suicide. At the same time, we are seeing more angry outbursts and tense situations — all releases from trauma.
Triumph Over Trauma is a comprehensive book about all the major psychedelics — their history, current uses and research, and detailed accounts of the experiences from each. The other half of the book contains 23 stories — 20 macrodosing (full-on psychedelic journeys) and 3 microdosing (no perceptual elements) stories.
Our goal is two-fold. First, to educate the public about the potential of psychedelic medicines for the healing of trauma. We have been lied to for the past 50+ years; not only do we have an Indigenous ancestral history of these medicines being used safely in sacred healing ceremonies for centuries, but we also have comprehensive research from back in the 1960s that these medicines had major potential for healing in therapeutic settings. (The reason these medicines were made illegal is PURELY politically-motivated.) Second, we want to emphasize the focus on HEALING the WHOLE — and at the same time annihilating the stigma surrounding mental health and psychedelics.
When used with intention — not recreationally — these medicines are proving they have a role in helping heal:
- Depression
- Treatment-resistant Depression
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Suicidality
- Addiction
- Anxiety
- Alcohol Use Disorder
- Headache Disorders (Cluster, Migraine)
- Eating Disorders
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
- Opioid Use Disorders
We are discovering more every day… the science of neuroplasticity and brain growth, the crippling elements of trauma, and the power of intention and integration in healing with these medicines.
We have a growing list of free articles and resources about the use of psychedelics for healing and transformation on the book website.

Finally, Ran just wants to again express his gratitude — to Barnes & Noble and to everyone who showed up for the event. He has written five books over his career, but this was his first-ever book signing!!
